What browsers can I use for Internet banking?
For Personal Online Banking, we recommend using one of the following browsers:

For Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows ME and Windows XP:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 or higher
  • Netscape Navigator version 6.1 or higher
  • Mozilla Firefox version 1.0
  • Opera version 7.54 or higher

For Mac OS X:

  • Netscape Navigator version 7.0 or higher
  • Mozilla Camino version 0.8.1 or higher
  • Apple Safari version 1.0 or higher
  • Mozilla Firefox version 1.0
  • Opera version 7.54 or higher

Some lower browser versions can be used; however, functionality may be limited.

How do I know if my browser supports 128-bit encryption?
On the menu bar, click the Help button. In the drop down box that appears, choose About Internet Explorer or About Netscape. The window that pops up will display your browser version and the encryption level supported by your browser. This needs to be 128-bit in order to use First American Bank’s online banking.
