Overdraft Protection Options

Overdraft Privilegesm

We understand that mistakes happen or expenses pop up at just the wrong time. We are here to help our customers succeed.

Overdraft Privilegesm is a First American Bank financial management service designed to help protect our good customers from merchant returned check charges, service startup expenses, and other merchant charges that can cost time, money and embarrassment.

  • Overdraft Privilegesm may be extended on Free, Regular/Interest and Club Checking accounts, for eligible First American Bank personal banking customers.
  • Rather than automatically returning checks, debit transactions, ATM withdrawals, etc., when there are insufficient funds in your account — we will consider paying the items, up to a $500 overdraft limit. (Note: This is a privilege we extend to customers and in circumstances we deem appropriate; we are not obligated to pay the items presented.)
  • Our usual overdraft charges will apply.
  • There is no application or signup to be completed, but you must qualify for Overdraft Privilegesm. Your First American Bank personal banker will help you determine whether you qualify. See us for details.

Moneyline

A Moneyline is a line of credit approved by your bank loan officer for qualifying applicants. This service is designed to advance money from the Moneyline to your Checking Account anytime your balance falls below $0. Payment schedules and interest rates are set forth in the Moneyline contract.

Savings/Checking Account

Your Savings or Checking Account can provide protection to another Checking Account by automatically transferring money from one account to your Checking Account anytime your balance falls below $0. The increments of the transfer are determined by you.
