CONSUMER PRIVACY: OUR PLEDGE TO YOU

Protecting the privacy and confidentiality of your personal information is important to us. We recognize that you have a right to expect that your personal financial information will remain private and secure. We value your business and want you to understand what information we collect and how we use it. In order to provide our customers with a broad range of financial products and services as effectively and conveniently as possible, we use technology to manage and maintain customer information. The following policy serves as a standard for all Waukee State Bank employees for the collection, use, retention, and security of personal information.

What Information We Collect

We may collect "nonpublic personal information" about you from the following sources:

  • Information we receive from you on applications or other loan and account forms;
  • Information about your transactions with us, or others; and
  • Information we receive from third parties such as credit bureaus.
  • Information we receive from you electronically, such as cookies as part of the electronic interchange between your computer system and ours.

"Nonpublic personal information" is nonpublic information about you that we obtain in connection with providing information to you electronically, receiving information from you electronically, or providing a financial product or service to you. For example, nonpublic personal information includes information regarding your account balance, payment history, and overdraft history.

We may disclose information to other financial institution partners with whom we have joint marketing agreements and have partnered with so that we may provide our customers competitive products and services. We may also disclose nonpublic personal information under circumstances as permitted or required by applicable law or regulations. These disclosures typically include information to process transactions on a customers behalf, conduct the operations of our bank, follow a customers authorized instructions, or protect the security of our financial records. Customers do not have the right to opt out under such a joint marketing agreement.

If you decide to close your account(s) or become an inactive customer, we will continue to adhere to the privacy policies and practices described in the notice.

Our Security Procedures

We also take steps to safeguard customer information. We restrict access to your personal and account information to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information. Employees who violate our privacy procedures are subject to disciplinary action which may include termination.

Ensuring Information Accuracy

We continually strive to maintain complete and accurate information about you and your accounts. We have established procedures to ensure that your information is accurate, current and complete, in keeping with reasonable commercial standards. Should you ever believe that our records contain inaccurate or incomplete information about you, please notify us. We will promptly investigate your concerns and correct any inaccuracies.

Availability of Pledge

This pledge is available in our banking offices. It is also given to each consumer who opens an account, and to all consumer customers at least once annually.
